UK: Beat-Herder will return to Lancashire from July 14 – 16, and has announced the upcoming edition’s first details. Throughout the independent event’s 12-year history, it has united the subcultures of dance music throughout its presentation of dub, reggae, house, psytrance, techno, indie, rock, psychedelic, drum & bass, and dubstep across 21 stages.

Confirmed for this year’s event are Sleaford Mods, Trentemøller, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Toots and the Maytals, David Rodigan, The Sugarhill Gang, Adrian Sherwood, Milky Chance, High Contrast, Slam, Optimo, Faithless, Shadow Child, Skream, Jackmaster, Mr. Scruff, Artwork, Factory Floor, Romare, SHY LUV, Richy Ahmed, Jon Hopkins (DJ) and Denis Sulta.

Renowned for its entirely handmade site, which is crafted from scratch, Beat-Herder employs creators to source unusual materials and conjure up unique and impressive elements and stages to explore and discover. Testament to the festival’s scrupulous attention to detail, it has won the ‘Extra Festival Activity Award’ at the UK Festival Awards.

In addition to the music, Beat-Herder also features underground tunnels to find and crawl through, a hidden heated swimming pool, hot tubs, vintage cars to dance on, a fairground complete with ferris wheel, taxidermy workshops, chainsaw carving, Christmas crackers, fancy dress, conga lines, talent competitions, pink discos, tattoos, fireworks displays and a church – complete with Sunday Service and (unofficial) marriages.
