Not to be confused with the short-lived BBC Expat Soap but described by organisers as the UK’s best kept secret festival, El Dorado let the secret slip to Festival Insights and around 12,000 fans who descended on Eastor Castle Deer Park for its famous fancy dress and party extravaganza. The site is transformed with 15 different venues including the new Vice City, a retro Miami inspired street with 6 of its own immersive venues and, get this, a Blue Tit Salon for those that are in need of some hair styling attention.

Headine sets from Groove Armada, Kojey Radical and Earth Wnd And Fire Experience topped off days spent with the likes of David Rodigan, Craig Charles and Yung Singh.

It has to be said that, when Festival Insights popped in on Sunday afternoon, there were definite signs of a party enjoyed while relaxing with Nubiyan Twist before Bjorn Again raised the retro temperature for the aforementioned Earth Wind And Fire Experience. For reasons unknown At 5pm the crowd exploded into a ginger flash mob organised by festival goers; while at Motel Dorado the hoedown was taken over by unicorn cowboys.
