    Sunbelt Rentals has welcomed ecolibrium as charity partner for 2022-23, with both organisations united around a shared commitment to support the live events industry in driving carbon emissions down and positive climate action forward with a focus on tackling the industry’s greatest environmental impact: travel.

    Sunbelt Rentals are serious about their commitment to lowering carbon emissions and have a target to lower these by at least 35% by 2030. In support of this strategy, they have recently had their Scope 1 & 2 emissions verified by the Carbon Trust against ISO14064-3.

    Since the introduction of their green vehicle policy over 170 Sunbelt Rentals employees have switched to pure EV vehicles, and Sunbelt’s EV & Ultra Low Emission vehicle fleet continues to grow as they roll out EV charging points across their depot network.

    Sunbelt also have an ambitious environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy to 2030; ‘Our Planet’, is a blueprint to achieve their own environmental targets and to help their clients meet individual sustainability goals

    Bethan Riach, Communications Manager for ecolibrium comments;

    “We are delighted to have found a partner whose environmental strategy aligns so well with ecolibrium’s mission to tackle event industry travel emissions. Not only does Sunbelt lead on industry best practice for reducing fleet carbon emissions, but they are equally committed to sharing this knowledge and supporting supply chains to follow suit in taking positive climate action. We look forward to amplifying their strategy through our partnership.”

    ecolibrium was founded in 2015 as a live events industry response to the climate crisis – a community of events, festivals, suppliers, artists and music companies taking action to tackle the impacts of travel. ecolibrium provides resources, tools, advice and inspiration to reduce travel emissions and invest in climate solutions – supporting ecosystem protection, regeneration and clean energy generation. ecolibrium has worked with its members to help fund 10 renewable energy projects, plant over 40,000 trees, and protect over 12,500 acres of threatened rainforest, carbon balancing the equivalent of over 19.3 million car miles through their two climate solutions programmes.

    Investing in the future with greener solutions is part of Sunbelt’s legacy. They will be working with ecolibrium to measure carbon emissions and invest in climate solutions to address unavoidable emissions.

    Geoff Fawkes, Business Development Director for New Markets comments:

    “We’re delighted to have partnered with ecolibirum in what promises to be an exciting new collaboration. It’s great to be working with a like-minded organisation who understands and appreciates the importance of positive climate action, but also one that address the impact of travel emissions within the events industry.

    “As a leading green rental solutions provider, it is our mission to drive the industry to achieving net zero carbon goals for both our customers and our Sunbelt business, through our ‘Our Planet’ strategy we hope to help shape the future for generations to come”.
