Gov’t Culture Director Launches Mallorca Live

Claimed to be the biggest and most important musical event in the Balearic Islands, Mallorca Live Festival, will return to Calvià on June 13, 14 and 15 with another quality and eclectic lineup.  Michael Kiwanuka and 2manydjs will join the seventh edition of the festival, which has also confirmed the well-known Sunday Sunday party as stage hosts where Jayda G, John Talabot, Palms Trax, Young Marco, Yu Su, Sunday Sunday djs, Toni Aparisi and Lourdes Lourdes will perform. The Mallorcan event has also reinforced its commitment to the best current electronic music and has confirmed the presence of international artists Acid Arab, Coco María, Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa and Jamz Supernova.

The latest additions join an exciting lineup that already includes; Pet Shop Boys, Blondie, Underworld, Aitana, Arde Bogotá, Belle & Sebastian, Dani Fernández, Jeff Rosenstock, Lori Meyers, Love of Lesbian and Sleaford Mods, amongst many others, which were presented for the first time in Germany at the Balearic Islands’ stand at ITB Berlin 2024, the world’s largest travel trade fair.

During the presentation on behalf of the Government of the Balearic Islands, the General Director of Culture, Ricarda M. Vicens Schluhe, highlighted the culture, tradition, sustainability, and heritage that the island of Mallorca has which are fully present in the advertising campaign carried out by Mallorca Live Festival to announce this year’s lineup. The very special video campaign celebrates the island’s identity, showcasing people who know very well how to live and enjoy Mallorca and who have made Mallorca what it is now. In short, they are the true ‘influencers’ who highlight the Mediterranean style so well known throughout the world and each one represents a unique aspect of the island (gastronomy, local products, the countryside, the sea, services, etc.).

Without a doubt, Mallorca Live Festival has become a great promoter of the cultural sector, an ambassador for the Balearic Islands and a promoter of the Mallorca brand and festival tourism, consolidating its headquarters in Calvià. Given the growth of the international nature of the event, Mallorca Live Festival already has outstanding recognition at the European level within the festival circuit.

It established itself in 2023 as one of the essential European festivals with its sixth edition, which brought together a total of 65,000 attendees over three days of live music to remember with Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers, The Kooks, Vetusta Morla, Quevedo, Bomba Estéreo, Bad Gyal, Moderat and Viva Suecia, amongst many other national and international artists and bands.

The Mallorcan event further reinforces its commitment to bringing the best current electronic music with Franco-Algerian collective Acid Arab, the Mexican DJ and selector Coco María, the celebration of love, house and techno from the United States by Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa and one of the UK’s leading new generation names, Jamz Supernova..
