FRANCE: Airstar has released a new range of bulb shaped lighting balloons for the live events industry, simply dubbed ‘Bulbs’.

The inspiration behind Bulbs came from Pierre Chabert, President and Director of Innovation at Airstar. The Bulbs are named after great inventors and are inspired by vintage bulb shapes appreciated by both the general public and the Airstar network.

“The event market constantly needs to renew itself to provide new ideas and solutions for its customers and the general public,” explained Airstar sales director, Xavier Ponson. “Traditional light bulbs are popular shapes that you can find in most design stores and interior decoration outlets nowadays. We believe it can have a similar success for events, so we decided to turn it into an Airstar innovation.”

With their original shapes, Bulbs replicate giant models of traditional bulbs, and boast Airstar’s renowned textile craftsmanship. Bulbs can be laid out on the floor or hanged from ceilings, and can be used indoors and outdoors. Available in eight different shapes and sizes, the Bulbs range from 160cm for the smallest model to 430cm for the largest. Bulbs are equipped with a built-in fan, allowing them to retain their shape over time. Installation time takes between 15 – 40 minutes in total, depending on the size of the model.

Bulbs are fully customisable thanks to various embedded LED light options, as they were designed to host different light sources already available in three others products from the Airstar event range: the Crystal RGB (colour LED), the Crystal Dynamic White (white LED) and the Crystal RGBW (white and colour LED). They can also be connected via DMX and controlled manually to create a one-of-a-kind light show.

The LED technology housed within the Bulbs offers a lifespan of over 50,000 hours while reducing power consumption (80W to 300W, depending on the models). They are able to operate between 100V to 240V, 50 / 60Hz.
