Championing diversity, Tremor 2024 promises a carefully crafted line-up of artists spanning various generations, musical genres, and geographic origins. Over 40 bands, musicians, producers, and DJs are set to converge on the picturesque island of São Miguel, transforming it into the nucleus of a five-day musical adventure.
Building upon the previously revealed lineup, the festival has introduces an array of special projects, exhibitions, and artistic residencies that promise to elevate the festival experience. Tremor faces – 10 years of joy, a collaborative project by photographers Pauliana Valente Pimentel and Paulo Pimenta, provides an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into last year’s event. Hosted by Espaço Nóbrega in the heart of Ponta Delgada, another visual treat is Reinterpretando Arte Bonecreira e Presépios de Lapinha, an exhibition of the Lapinha nativity scenes and clay figurines created to develop the festival’s visual identity.
Continuing its successful partnership with VidAçor, Tremor2024 invites festivalgoers to immerse themselves in the cuisine and traditions of Rabo de Peixe through family-oriented (Na Nossa Mesa) and festive (Cozinha Comunitária) events. The latter promises outstanding musical entertainment led by Azorean DJ Gaivota, accompanied by concertina players and regional musicians.
Another special feature of the festival is the much-loved Mini -Tremor, a dedicated programme for families and children at Estúdio 13 – Espaço de Indústrias Criativas. The program includes workshops for babies (CRASSH Babies), a family show (CRASSH DuoCircus), and a Body Percussion Workshop.
Continuing Tremor tradition, artist residencies remain an essential element of the festival, with this year’s event presenting four compelling projects: a new show by Som Sim Zero in collaboration with the bass drum group Bora Lá Tocar; a collaboration between Sam the Kid, the Rabo de Peixe Music School, and guest MCs; the Orquestra Modular Açoriana guided by Marshstepper; and a unique soundtrack and performance by Lavoisier for Tremor Todo-o-Terreno.
Emphasising its commitment to sustainability, Tremor 2024 will continues to provide public transport and free water across all festival spaces.
