Global Local has launched UnMute, the UK’s first artist roster dedicated to showcasing disabled artists, including Ali Affleck, Deaf Rave, DJ Flood and Drag Syndrome.
The roster has been in development for more than two years with support from Andrew Lansley, Creative Director for UnMute, and input from partners The Musicians’ Union, Attitude is Everything, and Drake Music.
UnMute will use the Musicians’ Union Access Rider template and guidance as the main framework to discuss and agree reasonable adjustments for performances.
Lansley commented: “UnMute has been a long time coming, and it’s been an incredible two years watching the community unite behind the project. The response from the UK events industry has been remarkable and we can’t wait to announce our first round of festival spots for 2026.
“Since our soft launch with independent festivals at the Festival Congress, we’ve had a lot of interest in the UnMute roster, and are currently in conversation with half a dozen top-end UK festivals.”
The full roster, which is now live, also includes: The Chairman Joss, Emzae, Gypskazz, John Kelly, Kray-z-Legz, Revenge of Calculus, Rightkeysonly and Tarantism.
The Roster is managed by Global Local, funded by the Arts Council England and project managed by Continental Drifts Music, led by music director Chris Tofu (also one of the directors of Glastonbury’s Shangri-La), in partnership with Movimientos, Fire in the Mountain, Going South and Front Room Songs.
