UK: A Greener Festival has revealed the latest recipients of its Greener Festival Awards and Greener Events Awards.

The Greener Festival Awards, a scheme led by A Greener Festival, have operated since 2007, and in that time have assessed over 400 festivals worldwide and assisted them with resource efficiency, decreasing their waste and carbon emissions, and ameliorating the impact that events and festivals have on the environment.

Since the launch of TGEA last year, the team has already worked with a wide range of events from conferences to multi-venue shows, from AGMs to sports events. Since A Greener Festival’s last announcement in January, the following non-festival events have won TGEAs: the Showman’s Show in the UK, and the Booking.com Annual Meeting (BAM18) in the Netherlands. Whilst Australia’s Island Vibe Festival has earned itself an AGFA.

Booking.com’s global events manager, Aleksandra Bora, said upon receiving the award: “We are humbled by the fact our efforts have gotten this recognition. I truly believe this is a fantastic step towards a significant change in the way companies consider their impact and potential to engage at their events.”

The following AGFA 2017 winners picked up their awards during an end-of-event party held for the Green Events & Innovations conference (GEI10) on March 6 at the Royal Garden Hotel in London: Body & Soul (IE), Cambridge Folk Festival (UK), Doolin Folk Festival (IE), Green Gathering (UK), Greenbelt (UK), HebCelt Festival (UK), Paradise City (BE), We Love Green (FR), and Wood Festival (UK).

Applications are now being accepted for the Greener Festival Award 2018. Events wishing to participate can get in touch via email.
