Pukkelpop and Disco Naïveté to Host Showcase Night at SXSW

USA: Pukkelpop and Belgian music blog Disco Naïveté are teaming up for the renowned South by Southwest showcase festival in Austin, Texas. On March 18, the four-day festival’s opening night, they are organising an official showcase night at club Red 7. Apart from several international acts including Mew, Kate Boy, Juce and Rainy Milo, the line-up also features Belgian bands BRNS and Vuurwerk.

Pukkelpop organiser Chokri Mahassine commented: “Pukkelpop has been a regular at SXSW for nearly a decade in an ongoing quest to discover new bands and tap into current musical trends. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to discover many up and coming acts in one of the countless local clubs, including Fleet Foxes, Amy Winehouse, Diplo and Mumford & Sons. International festivals and many well-known music blogs such as Pitchfork organise their own parties at the festival. In the past, Jarri and his buzz blog Disco Naïveté have also hosted several successful showcase nights and this year we decided to join forces in setting up a high-profile show at Red 7. He may operate his website from a modest room in Antwerp but scores of music enthusiasts and music industry people hang on his every word. An ideal match with Pukkelpop, for whom discovering new music has been a top priority for thirty years.”
