ADE to host showcase events at SXSW

USA: The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) – one of the world’s leading festivals for electronic music – will head to Austin, Texas this March for SXSW, one of the busiest and largest showcase events in the world. ADE will present three showcases there, one with Dutch festival Appelsap and two with the joint effort of Dekmantel and Red Light Radio.

ADE Director Richard Zijlma commented: “The Dutch creative industry has a strong global reputation, and represents an [export] value of billions, partly thanks to the dance scene. Through our international activities we intend to increase that value and create a springboard for Dutch talent.”

Kicking off on Wednesday March 15, Appelsap, known for its exceptional hip-hop and electronic music festival in Amsterdam, will bring some of the finest grime, hip-hop and electronic music to Plush with AJ Tracey and more to be announced.

Amsterdam based music company Dekmantel is known for promoting leading events such as Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam and São Paulo, as well as its international acclaimed record label. Online radio station Red Light Radio hails from Amsterdam’s Red Light district and broadcasts a broad spectrum of music. Together they will be hosting the Thursday and Friday featuring the likes of Max Abysmal, Casper Tielrooij, Orpheu the Wizard, Woody and more to be announced.
