UK: Creative event safety specialist Tess has partnered with Music Support, to further enable the mental health charity’s ambitious training program, and further its work with individuals in the UK music industry suffering from mental, emotional and behavioural health issues.

Tess director, Simon James, commented: “With three decades working in live events I have too many personal experiences witnessing people suffering with mental health issues without adequate support. We work in a pressured environment and we’re very proud to do what we can assisting Music Support to bring empathetic, professional help into the music industry.”

Music Support offers a confidential helpline service, runs training workshops, and has introduced ‘Safe Hubs’ backstage at music festivals, where artists or anyone working backstage can speak confidentially to trained mental health first aiders for help and advice.

Music Support Managing Director, Eric Mtungwazi, said: “Music Support is delighted that Tess has chosen to support the charity in helping industry peers affected by mental ill health and / or addiction issues.  Tess is a leader in the field of health and safety needs, and we see this partnership as a significant industry step forward towards putting mental and physical health agendas on more even footing for the wellbeing of the community we serve.”

The charity hosts a 24/7 phone helpline: 0800 0306789, which is available to anyone working within the live events industry.
