Grassroots acts across the UK will have the chance to support the Lottery Winners on their upcoming ‘This is How It Feels’ UK tour, thanks to a partnership with Amplead and their Apply to Play service.

The tour kicks off on 16th November at Portsmouth Guildhall, taking in 12 cities, culminating in the band’s hometown of Manchester at O2 Academy on Dec 1st.

The band, who enjoyed its first number one, this May, with their album – Anxiety Replacement Therapy, are returning to the road, where they have enjoyed building strong ties with loyal audiences.

The Apply to Play initiative will be announced by local UK radio stations. Not only will the acts be chosen directly by the Lottery Winners and get to play to sell-out audiences, but they will also receive £200 as a support fee.

The regional radio stations will launch the Apply to Play opportunity, and promote the opportunity until the closing date, with the selected artists being announced on the local radio station by the band.

Apply to play launches on: 3rd October 2023

Applications will close: 20th October 2023.

Thom Rylance, Lottery Winners frontman says:

“We want to, in our small way, to help support up and coming artists across the UK. We’ve been gigging for 15 years, so we know how hard it is to break into these larger venues and how much of a big deal it was for us to play them, so it feels great to be working with the Amplead team to give an opportunity to play.”

Having supported the Lottery Winners on their winter 2022 small venues tour, Amplead’s Gavin Barnard says:

“I am delighted that we are able to carry on working with the Lottery Winners as their career progresses, and that they share our ethos in giving local artists a chance to shine under a bigger spotlight and being able to provide grass roots artists with this type of opportunity. Having seen the Lottery Winners perform for many years, I imagine a lot of these talented up-and-coming bands will do what the Lottery Winners have done in the past, and totally blow them away!”
