Focus Wales Conference Returns for 14th Edition

The 14th FOCUS Wales music industry conference will take place 9th – 11th May 2024, in the city of Wrexham. As Wales’ newest city, Wrexham has gained international attention in recent years and is proud to host Wales’ largest showcase festival and conference.

Sponsored by Creative Wales, the FOCUS Wales conference is poised to welcome over 400 music industry professionals from around the world. Notable participating organisations include PRS Foundation, PPL, PRS for Music, British Council, Arts Councils, and various export agencies. Creative Wales, a Welsh Government agency established in 2020 to support the creative industries in Wales, will be a key supporter of this year’s FOCUS Wales conference.

The FOCUS Wales Music Conference is globally recognised as a pivotal meeting point, fostering essential conversations and developmental discussions within the music industry. This three-day event creates invaluable networking opportunities for Welsh freelancers, international industry professionals, and artists spanning diverse musical genres and backgrounds.

The 2024 FOCUS Wales Music Conference will feature over 40 panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and networking events, all centered around the overarching theme of shaping the future of the music industry. Co-founder of FOCUS Wales and conference programmer Neal Thompson comments: “Last year was a defining moment for our music conference and gave a great foundation to build from. We’re looking towards the future with the 2024 program, reflecting not just the modern and diverse nation Wales is today but also how we all play an active part in shaping the music world as a whole, going forward.”

Already attracting a stellar lineup of delegates, this year’s attendees include representatives from Secretly Group, Sky, Glastonbury, Domino Records, WOMEX, Other Voices, DHP Family, DMZ Peace Train Festival, and SPIKE Showcase. Additionally, organisations such as PPL, PRS Foundation, PRS for Music, Musicians Union, and Live will be in attendance. The unveiling of the conference panel programme and speakers is scheduled to commence in February.
