Wunderhorse to Support Jockstrap at Top of Dot to Dot Bill

Dot To Dot Festival have just announced the second wave of artists to join the 2024 edition of the metropolitan music event, with WUNDERHORSE joining JOCKSTRAP to headline the second stage of the May bank holiday weekend, alongside 33 more names, adding to the already exciting list of emerging artists. Following an amazing 2023 event with Bristol a sellout, Dot To Dot Festival is set to return to Bristol and Nottingham city centres on the 25th and 26th May respectively.

Showcasing the hottest up-and-coming acts is always at the forefront of what Dot To Dot Festival do, and the lineup this year is no different, with mercury nominated JOCKSTRAP already announced as festival headliners, returning higher up the bill following their 2022 performances at the festival. The news that D2D 2021 alumni WUNDERHORSE will join them as second stage headliners makes this trend even more prevalent, returning following their recent trajectory which has seen the band touring with the likes of Fontaines D.C, Pixies, Sam Fender and Foals, whilst selling out their own headline slots. Their debut album ‘Cub’, found fans in Zane Lowe, NME and BBC Radio 1.

THE MAGIC GANG are also set to join this year’s lineup for their celebratory farewell tour, as they announce they are to separate after more than a decade together. From the joyous power-pop and swooning vocal harmonies of their self-titled debut to the rousing Northern Soul leanings of their acclaimed second album, ‘The Death of the Party’, they depart with a back catalogue to be proud of, and these goodbye performances will be something to remember.

The subject of a meteoric rise over the past twelve months ANTONY SZMIEREK will also be returning to the festival this year following his performances last year. What started as poetry performances on small stages led to skillfully crafted melodies to accompany his words, and from there more songs. Fast forward to today, and Antony is an A List artist on BBC 6 Music, performed live in session at Maida Vale for BBC Radio 1, played to huge crowds at festivals including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, Lost Village and many more, alongside a performance on Later… With Jools Holland, a rite of passage reserved for only the most deserving of artists.

Being praised by the likes of Billboard, CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, Under The Radar and more, ABBY SAGE joins the lineup. Having graced the covers of Spotify’s esteemed playlists and performing alongside the likes of Suki Waterhouse, Gus Dapperton, Vacations, Lexi Jayde, and more, her set will be one to catch. And with a reputation for their dynamic live shows, which have included a sold-out headline show at London’s Lafayette late last year and a packed-out recent set at Latitude Festival, BLEACH LAB head to Dot To Dot 2024.

Having just returned from their sold-out debut album headline tour with dates through Europe, Ireland/UK, and initially championed by BBC 6 Music’s Marc Riley, along with Adam Walton and Huw Stephens on Radio Cymru, THE BUG CLUB will perform in Bristol and Nottingham, and New York Soft Rock band comprised of 4 siblings, INFINITY SONG will bring their blend of tight vocal harmonies, dreamy lyricism and sublime guitar riffs to this year’s festival.

For JGRREY the past couple of years haven’t been a refresh as much as they have been a complete reinvention. Having first caught the public’s attention with her viral rendition of ‘Don’t Fade’ on the Colors platform in 2017, she went on to rack up millions of streams of breezy and soulful tracks For Keeps and Growing as well as opening for Billie Eilish on her European tour, her set will be one to catch. Also, on the cusp of a major breakthrough, PASTEL join the D2D lineup. Having achieved #1 and #2 vinyl chart positions for their two EPs to date (‘Deeper Than Holy’ and ‘Isaiah’), selling out their maiden UK headline tour, alongside opening Liam Gallagher’s huge Knebworth Park show, at the personal invitation of the man himself, their sets will be ones to note. And referred to as ‘Disarmingly cool’ by COMPLEX, TIM ATLAS will bring his nocturnal hybrid of R&B, neo-soul, alternative, and D.I.Y. bedroom pop with unrestrained emotion to Dot To Dot stages.

Berlin-based singer/songwriter ANNA ERHARD joins the lineup, alongside London-based poppy experimental electronica musician BABYMOROCCO, and London based lo-fi rock group C TURTLE. Ambient dark-pop four-piece CHARTREUSE will be heading to the festival and with fuzzy guitars, vocal soundscapes, and intricately composed drum and percussion parts COSMORAT will perform. Making inviting and frenetic guitar pop for when life feels overwhelming, DUCKS LTD. are also in the list of names.

Carefully weaving the electronic worlds of gabber and techno with ambient pop and folk to produce a shapeshifting blend which defies convention EBBB will be at D2D 2024, alongside French rock band EN ATTENDANT ANA. One of Manchester’s most talked about new indie artists, FREAK SLUG brings her unapologetic and fearless writing style to D2D, and the definition of rock ‘n’ roll, FULL FLOWER MOON BAND are added in this second announce. Earning comparisons to everyone from The Breeders to Snail Mail, GIRL SCOUT head to Bristol and Nottingham.

GLIZZ joins the lineup, coming off the back of multiple sold out headline dates and tens of millions of streams in the past year. Described by the Irish Times as “raw as a butcher’s cut, and just as fresh”, GURRIERS will bring their raging combination of punk, noise, alt-rock and shoegaze to Dot To Dot, along with one of the most explosive and exciting rock’n’roll live acts to emerge from the UK in years, HIS LORDSHIP. Combining a lyrical eye for life’s smaller moments with a musical sensibility that’s increasingly prioritising synths, hooks and the power of a good time, HOME COUNTIES head to D2D. HUTCH will return to the lineup this year off the back of multiple sell out dates and support slots with the likes of Yin Yin, Do Nothing, Oracle Sisters, Trudy & The Romance and more. With a unique fusion between the rawness of grime culture and the creativity and eclecticism of UK Rap, KOJ will be at D2D, and with word spreading about her anthemic and eminently hooky songwriting, North East artist LIZZIE ESAU is within this second wave.

Burmese-British singer/songwriter and DJ LUCY TUN brings her electrifying sounds to the May bank holiday, and up and coming Nottingham artist LYVIA promises to touch your heart strings with her honest and soulful voice. Nashville based singer-songwriter MALI VELASQUEZ will bring her folk-rooted indie rock, and OSCAR #WORLDPEACE, one of UK music’s most potent storytellers, co-signed by the likes of Mike Skinner and other titans of the country’s music scene will take to the metropolitan stages. Finally, a project brimming with energy and impassioned animosity with the state of the world and its effects on humanity, UNPEOPLE complete this second wave of 2024 artists.

This list of artists creates what is set to be a very exciting and diverse year for Dot To Dot, with the news of returning artists as they continue the trajectory of their careers, demonstrating that embracing rising talent remains a crucial mission for the festival. Dot To Dot Festival booker Joshua Ward explains ‘‘’We always use D2D as an opportunity to spotlight the best up and coming acts for the coming year, and we feel that this second wave adds even more depth and variety to what was already a very exciting first list of artists. We are very happy to have Wunderhorse as our second stage headliner this year, joining our headliner Jockstrap. They are both returning to the festival from previous years after their recent successes. Having The Magic Gang perform at the festival for their farewell tour will be a stunning moment that we are honoured to be a part of. This year’s line-up is shaping up to be a very diverse and promising list of artists, with many more still to be announced.’
