Como No, one of the world’s foremost Latin music promoters, today announces a significant change to its organisational structure following the decision of its founder Andy Wood to step down as Director after almost forty years of running the company. Wood stays on as a non-executive board member and is replaced as Director by Elena Beltrami.

Since forming Como No in 1985, Andy Wood has made an immeasurable contribution to Latin music and culture in the UK.  Alongside creating the globally revered La Linea Festival, Wood is also responsible for having arranged UK performances and tours for some of the genre’s biggest stars, has created landmark events and unique one-off collaborations, and is a fierce champion of up-and-coming talent. He leaves behind a legacy of innovation that has made an indelible mark on the Latin music landscape.

Speaking of his time at the helm, Andy Wood said “It’s been an incredible journey over almost forty years. On a daily basis I have felt humbled by the breadth of talent from Latin America and beyond that I have had the good fortune to work with. It’s been a privilege to work within a culture that I love, and with artists that I love in this great city of ours, for incredible audiences and with supportive venues and partners. In Elena, after an exhaustive search, we have found the ideal person to kickstart the next chapter in the organisation’s journey.”

Beltrami brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to her new role having worked for over two decades in the music industry as a Promoter and Festival Programmer. Her expertise extends across an array of genres and her appointment signals the organisation’s strong commitment to remaining at the forefront of the Latin music landscape.

On picking up the tiller, Elena Beltrami said:”I am honoured to take on the role of Director at La Linea & Como No and incredibly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. My goal is to build on the organisation’s rich legacy while also exploring new avenues for growth and creativity. By providing a platform for emerging talent, we can showcase the vibrant diversity of voices within the Latin music scene and foster greater connections between cultures.”

The transition in leadership comes at a pivotal moment for La Linea and Como No as it wrapped up the 24th edition of La Linea this week and enters its second year as a National Portfolio Organisation supported by the Arts Council of England.

Como No is currently expanding its team and looking to recruit a new Operations & Reporting Manager.
