With the potential for England or Scotland men’s football teams to be playing matches in the last 16 of this year’s European Football Championships, Glastonbury has issued an early warning that the matches won’t be screened at this year’s festival.

It’s understandable, given that those matches, if either team were to get past the group stages, could take place on the Saturday or Sunday evening of this year’s event, giving some attendees a challenging choice between headline sets, phone screens and ultimate crushing disappointment.

In a statement, Glastonbury Festival said “We would like to wish both Gareth Southgate and Steve Clarke’s sides all the best in Germany. And we hope we’ll all be able to watch them play Quarter Final matches in the days after this year’s Festival.”
