Hyper Japan Festival Returns to Olympia

This July, the UK’s largest Japanese culture festival, HYPER JAPAN, is returning to Olympia Events and is set to be the biggest yet. The 20th edition of the festival will take place from 19 – 21 July 2024 with over 350 exhibitors showcasing the very best that Japanese culture has to offer, with sponsorship from MIO Sparkling Sake, Soldeli, Sanrio,

The annual exhibition, which first launched in 2010, celebrates all that Japanese culture has to offer with exhibitors showcasing a variety of Japanese trends including anime, manga, traditional arts and crafts, and technology such as gaming company Bushiroad and Bandai Namco.

The Stage Area at this year’s festival will showcase incredible performances from artists including:

Britain’s Got Talent 2023 Finalist, Tonikaku as well as Who-ya Extended, known for their smash-hit song “VIVID VICE” and theme tune to the second series of Jujutsu Kaisen, who will appear on the Friday.

Saturday’s performances will include Romi Park, currently in Spirited Away at the London Coliseum and known for her voice overs such as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, Nana Osaki in Nana and Hange Zoe in Attack on Titan as well an incredible show from DJ and producer, RAM RIDER.

For the final day of the festival, Cosplayer and singer, Akari Akase, known for the theme to TV anime show “My Dress-Up Darling” will perform a standout show.

Visitors can also enjoy variety of Japanese food and drink, including Soldeli, where you can enjoy fresh scallops and genuine wagyu beef, and MIO Sparkling Sake, the perfect summer drink. As well as this, the popular HYPER SAKE STREET experience returns where visitors can explore over 35 different types of sake or enjoy a dedicated tasting and food pairing with a premiere ticket. Also, new for 2024, the ‘Go To Japan’ area will offer invaluable resources to help plan your dream trip to Japan.

During the festival, there will be a number of exciting workshops including, but not limited to, Sumi Painting, Japanese sweet making (Nerikiri-Wagashi), Manga workshops and Japanese language learning. Attendees can also enjoy a Cosplay show and Fashion Show which will be held on both Saturday and Sunday.
