A novel yet lifesaving approach to ticketing has seen Romania’s largest music festivals, UNTOLD and Neversea, co-ordinating the longest-running national blood donation campaign, reaching its 10th edition this year. Since the Blood Network campaign began, over 18,000 donors saved more than 60,000 lives. This year, the call to action to help those in need runs from May 18th to June 30th. Donors attend the mobile donation facility, which will visit ten cities in Romania and the transfusion centers across the country.

Those who donate get free tickets to UNTOLD Festival, one of the biggest music festivals in the world, or Neversea, the largest beach festival in Europe. Those who donate to the transfusion centers across Romania get discounts on festival passes.

This blood donation campaign started in 2015 The organisers were inspired by the myth of Dracula and the vampires from Transylvania that usually suck blood, and they gave it this twist to donate it and save lives. One person can save three lives through a donation of blood.

Initially called Pay with Blood, it was renamed Blood Network in its second year of existence.  It is a unique initiative, and being in the heart of Transylvania, the UNTOLD team found this element of authenticity to attract donors. In Romania, more than 500,000 units of blood are needed annually.

“The involvement of UNTOLD and Neversea fans in the BLOOD NETWORK campaign has always impressed us. We are reaching the 10th edition of this initiative, and we are proud to announce that, together with our partners and festival fans, we have saved over 60,000 lives. Seeing how the passion for music transforms into an extraordinary gesture of donating blood is wonderful. Donating blood is an act of generosity and a gesture of solidarity and compassion towards others. This year, the BLOOD NETWORK caravan will reach ten cities in Romania, and we welcome good-hearted people to the mobile caravan and transfusion centers across the country. We are confident that many people will want to do a good deed this year, save a life, and enjoy our festival experiences, whether at UNTOLD or Neversea” says Edy Chereji, Co-Founder of UNTOLD Universe.

The Blood Network campaign is made possible with the support of Kaufland Romania, in partnership with the “Și Eu Donez” platform, and with the help of the National Institute of Blood Transfusion.

This summer, Neversea takes place from July 4th to July 7th in Romania’s coastal city of Constanța. Maluma, Nick Carter, Bebe Rexha, G-Eazy, Alok, Mahmut Orhan, Salvatore Ganacci, Sofi Tukker, Steve Aoki, and Tujamo are some of the headliners of Europe’s largest beach festival. More details are available on neversea.com.

UNTOLD Festival will open its doors  from August 8th to 11th. More than 200 live acts, DJs and producers will perform on eight stages and musical spots. Lenny Kravitz, Sam Smith, Burna Boy, Swedish House Mafia, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Alok, Lost Frequencies, Purple Disco Machine, Timmy Trumpet, Black Coffee, Carl Cox, with his Hybrid Live Show, Fisher, Solomun, and more, will headline the 9th edition of UNTOLD.
