New electronic music festival Fort X will take place at Slovenia’s medieval Mokrice Castle on 5 September 2026.
The debut edition will feature Dixon, founder of the dance music label and institution Innervisions. House and techno producers Maceo Plex, Âme DJ, Butch, Nic Fanciulli and more also join the festival for its inaugural edition.
Fort X is being held in an “intentionally limited” setting where the programming is designed around longer sets and an intimate audience, says the festival. Within the walls of Mokrice Castle, Fort X says its one-day festival is being designed around the castle’s architecture with stages in hidden courtyards and woodland paths.
The festival is a collaboration with BSH Events, electronic music promoters who organise site-specific events across Europe and Main Stage Travel, who are behind Kala and Snowboxx.
Joe Quinn, co-founder of Fort X, said: “Fort X has never been about creating another festival. We wanted to build an experience that feels genuinely different, something hidden, intimate and unforgettable.
Mokrice Castle gives us an opportunity to bring together incredible music, incredible people and an extraordinary location unlike anywhere else in Europe.”
