Music showcase and conference Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) has announced the first wave of 42 artists for its 2027 edition, alongside a new delegates-only programme at De Oosterpoort cultural centre on the first day of the show. ESNS takes place in Groningen, the Netherlands, from 13–16 January.
The showcase says almost 6,000 artists applied, with 42 artists from 31 countries selected. The first wave of artists includes Irish singer Aaron Rowe, who recently dropped out of supporting Ed Sheeran on his current tour, as well as up-and-comers Little Grandad, Alt-Grunge band Bleech 9:3, HVNDS, Ida The Young, Isabel van Gelde and Gwenifer Raymond, who featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk in April.
Oskar Stajn, head of music at ESNS, said: “From a record number of applications to an incredibly diverse and high-quality selection, this first wave is a great reflection of Europe’s music scene.
We are delighted to make this selection together with 28 EBU radio stations from across Europe and excited to bring these artists to ESNS 2027.”
Registration for ESNS is open now.
