North African destination festival, Oasis: Into The Wild, has announced its complete 2023 line-up, with a raft of exciting new additions including ARTBAT, OK Williams, and Rodriguez Jr. The Moroccan festival’s Opening Party, presented by The Mbari House, is also unveiled today, featuring performances from Walshy Fire, Draganov, Ouenza, Alo Wala, Goya Gumbani, and more. Britannia Row Productions has supplied L-Acoustics PA systems across four of WOMAD’s stages: Open Air, Saddlespan, Siam and Taste the World, on behalf of Judgeday Productions Director, Dave T. The Open Air Stage is the second festival environment in which Britannia Row has deployed the new L Series L2 system, following exceptional results at Soho House Festival. When Birmingham Festival 2023 took place from 28th July – 6th August to mark the one-year anniversary of the Commonwealth Games, JA Productions (JAP) delivered all event, site and operations management on behalf of organiser Birmingham City Council. Sustainability Not for profit A Greener Future (formerly A Greener Festival) have released release insight into festival carbon footprints. Key findings revealed audience travel contributed on average to 41% of the carbon footprint when a more complete account of scope 3 emissions is included. When including wider travel such as production, traders, and artists, travel and transport represent closer to 58%, with food and drink responsible for an average 34% of a festival’s carbon footprint. Kendal Calling has revealed that this summer’s festival has raised a whopping £55,735 for local charities, organisations and other deserving causes. Funds were raised just last month at Kendal Calling through donations, merchandise sales, guest list donations, on site activations and more, thanks to the continued, truly impactful generosity and support of Kendal Calling’s attendees. Safer Spaces Now CIC worked in partnership with Notting Hill Carnival, Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and the Metropolitan Police again this year, to provide specialist support to prevent and respond to incidents of violence against women and girls and all forms of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
