The Netherlands-based music festival and conference Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) has closed its doors for another year. Celebrating its 40th edition in 2026, the Groningen festival welcomed almost 300 European acts from 39 countries, and hosted around 40,000 attendees over four days. More than 4,000 accredited music professionals also descended on Groningen, says the festival. A new music festival is heading to Stockport. Launching in 2026 with a specific date to be confirmed, Sidelines will “celebrate the town’s creative spirit and reimagining its spaces through contemporary live music, discovery, and culture,” the festival said in its announcement. The Scottish four-day weekender HebCelt, held on the Isle of Lewis, generated £4.4million for the local economy in 2025, says the festival.
