In pictures: Revellers celebrate 25 years of Shambala Festival

The sold-out event brought music, mischief and (in certain areas) mysticism to a quaint pocket of the Northamptonshire countryside.

Another sun has set on Shambala Festival. This year’s sold out event, which took place from 21-24 August, welcomed thousands of revellers to a quaint pocket of the Northamptonshire countryside for four days of music, mischief and, if you wandered into the right tent, mysticism.

The iconic festival celebrated its 25th year with stand-out performances from the likes of Grammy-winning jazz rap acts Digable Planets, Moonchild Sanelly, Nubiyan Twist Soundsystem and many more.

Shambala began in 2000 as a DIY gathering of like-minded pals, but has since grown to become an event that enjoys cult-like status from all those who attend. Over its 25 year history, the festival has continued to remain unapologetically independent, and acts as a vital platform for social and political change, sustainability and diversity.

Shambala’s 2026 edition will take place from 27-30 August 2026. More information when available will be found here.

Chris Johnson, Shambala co-founder and Managing Director, said: “This year was an unforgettable milestone – another vibrant, sold-out edition of Shambala buzzing with so much joy, creativity and connection after 25 years was a proud moment for everyone involved. Our community has always believed festivals can be a force for good. Not just for celebration, but for change. We can’t wait to continue this wonderful journey.”
