Heritage Live Festivals have said they are “devastated” to announce the cancellation of its 2026 series.
The shows set for 6-8 August were to bring Christina Aguilera, Eric Clapton and Lionel Richie to the royal estate at Sandringham, Norfolk.
In a statement posted to its website, Heritage Live said the decision comes after “the cost-of-living crisis combined with general financial uncertainty, has resulted in several shows having far lower than average ticket sales.”
“As one of the few remaining British independent promoters, it’s become almost impossible to compete in what has become an increasingly saturated festival market,” the festival went on to say.
Heritage Live also added that “the might of huge multi-nationals has had the adverse effect of driving up supplier, artist and staffing costs.”
The festival series, operated by GCE Live, had been running for ten years and welcomed global acts such as Robbie Williams, Van Morrison and The Who.
