Glastonbury 2027 has sold out in just 40 minutes, says the BBC.
The festival returns to its Worthy Farm home on 23-27 June 2027 after taking a fallow year in 2026.
Glastonbury introduced new online systems for 2027 in an effort to alleviate the notoriously frantic Sunday morning race for tickets. This included a queuing system, allowing each registered person one place in line, which meant no repeated tappings of F5 to refresh the page and no multiple tabs on every available electronic device.
Successful ticket-buyers could purchase up to six tickets for themselves, friends and family. The first batch, which was a coach and ticket package, sold out in less than 30 minutes on Thursday [1 October].
Glastonbury hopefuls reported some frustration in not making it beyond the ‘green bars’ on the Glastonbury site, which signifies how close you are to bagging your ticket. “It’s literally a lottery,” one person told the BBC.
All hope is not lost though as resales on returned tickets will be put back on to the market in April.
Earlier this year, the festival caused some controversy over its ticket prices which broke the £400 mark for the first time ever. That, however, did not seem to deter the many thousands competing to be at the iconic festival for 2027.
