Festival-goers may be willing to give an arm and a leg to attend their favourite festival for free, but how about a kidney? That’s the proposal from Way Out West’s new initiative. The Swedish festival, who will be hosting the likes of Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, Pet Shop Boys and more, is urging music fans to apply for a free 3-day pass by signing up to the national organ donor register. Entries close on Thursday 7 August. Dubbed the ‘Kidney Pass’, the ‘first-of-its-kind’ initiative was launched in response to a decline in donor registrations across Sweden, says the festival. Those interested can register…

It’s late-July, and in what seems like a blink of the eye we’re edging ever closer to the end of the UK festival season. We’ve seen Rod Stewart earn his Glastonbury flowers, experienced the second coming of BRAT summer, and witnessed the resurgence of the bucket hat amid Oasis-mania. But while this year’s live music scene has been dominated by headline acts, there’s a gulf widening in the festival market. Frank Carter, Solomun and many more across the four day event. “This year, we didn’t just defend EXIT’s freedom -…
Where do new DJs breakthrough in 2025? It’s a pretty rough landscape. In January 2025, the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) released figures that “showed a 32.7% decline in the total activity of the UK’s nightclub sector since March 2020,” it said. That’s 405 UK venues lost in less than five years. The reasons are many. Rising rent and energy costs, a COVID hangover still being nursed all these years later and changing customer demographics all tell a part of the story. But while a myriad of factors continue to shutter venues across the UK, it’s easy to forget that…

The platform gives promoters access to a suite of tools to manage every stage…
