The South London-based electronic music festival GALA will return to Peckham Rye Park in 2026. Held across the May bank holiday weekend, 22-24 2026, the festival has unveiled that DJs Palms Trax, Antal and HUNEE will perform a rare B2B set, and will be joined by the likes of Benji B & Judah, Chaos In The CBD, Call Super and more across the weekend. CC:DISCO!, Job Jobse, Peach, Prosumer, Mia Koden, Moxie and more will also appear over the three-day celebration. As reliably as day turns to night, it seems with each passing week comes the expected news that at least one UK music festival has shuttered its doors. This week, that comes in the celebration of LGBTQ+ culture that is Manchester Pride, alongside the Hertfordshire-based Standon Calling. Over the past seven days, both festivals have entered liquidation. There are some circumstantial differences in to how both festivals ended, at least for now. Over 40 acts have been announced for Boomtown 2026, in what the festival says will usher in a new, “radically redesigned” chapter for the Hampshire-based festival. Belfast rap trio Kneecap join New York glam-pop stars Scissor Sisters as headline acts, alongside ska legends Madness and dubstep innovator Skrillex.  They join the likes of Four Tet, Faithless, Scooter, Shaggy and many more across the festival, which takes place 12-16 August 2026. After closing doors on its “record breaking edition” from 22-25 October 2025, Amsterdam Dance Event has announced it will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026 from 21 – 25, October. The conference, live music event and celebration of dance music culture recently welcomed 600,000 visitors and nearly 3,500 artists across over 1,200 events, says the organisation. Environmental charity onboard:earth has launched a Green Travel Toolkit for Events in Wales which aims at educate event organisers in measuring and reducing their carbon footprint. onboard:earth’ says the new set of guidelines is designed to “help organisations measure and reduce travel impacts,” and is formed of two main guides: The Green Travel Guide for Welsh Events, and A Quick Guide to Collecting Quality Travel Data. Glasgow’s celebration of folk and roots music and culture, Celtic Connections, has announced the first acts for its 33rd edition. Scottish folk-rock icons Skerryvore, singer Rokia Koné, award winner RURA, Cuban jazz band Buena Vista All Stars and many more will appear over from 15 January to 1 February 2026.  Senegalese orchestral act Baobab, Antonio Sanchez, Bela Fleck, Lucinda Williams and more will also appear at the city festival, which takes over venues across the city, including the Barrowland Ballroom, Old Fruitmarket, King Tut’s, and many more. Bristol Sounds festival has names Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark and The Streets as its first headline acts for 2026. The festival will take over Bristol’s Canons Marsh Amphitheatre across five dates in 2026.
