The International Live Music Conference (ILMC) will return in person and at a new, five-star location for its 2022 edition, celebrating the entertainment world’s emergence from the Covid-19 pandemic. Artists touring to Spain will no longer need visas for short-term engagements in a dramatic change to the current onerous rules. The change follows months of dedicated work from LIVE and the Association for British Orchestras (ABO), working alongside Spanish counterparts Asociación Promotores Musicales. Scottish Deputy First Minister and Covid Recovery Secretary John Swinney said recently that vaccine passports would be in place in Scotland until 16th November, when ministers would review whether they would remain in place depending on Covid-19 cases. Swinney said the scheme could be extended to other sectors, including workplaces, following the review. Highest Point Festival has today released figures showing its economic impact in the Lancashire region is estimated to be £4.68 million, after 35,000 people came together to celebrate the annual music event this September. The new stats shared by the team behind Lancashire’s biggest open-air music festival, also show that the event brought in a huge amount of tourism to the city, and contributed to the growth in GDP* over the summer, which the ONS claimed has been led by the service industry.
