AIF has partnered with LGBT+ anti-abuse charity Galop and anti-spiking charity Stamp Out Spiking to bolster its Safer Spaces Charter. Galop works with LGBT+ people who have experienced abuse and violence, specialising in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, hate crime, honour-based abuse, forced marriage, so-called ‘conversion therapy’, and other forms of interpersonal abuse. Haringey Council has announced a 5-year agreement with Festival Republic which sees benefits for all parties. A statement from Haringey Council says that The new agreement will see major events taking place in the park each summer for the next five years, generating significant income for the park and benefitting local businesses and the community. On average, Haringey Council receives around £1.2 million from major events each year, all of which is reinvested into Finsbury Park. The organisers of Scottish festival, Doune The Rabbit Hole have issued a statement leveling blame for the event’s cancellation on an entertainment union call for a boycott, after the company promoting last year’s edition, Doune The Rabbit Hole Festival Ltd, entered liquidation in late 2022, owing around £1m. Last year’s collapse was followed by the news that the company that had run the 2018 and 2019 editions, Festival Beverage and Property Services Ltd, headed up by the father of Jamie Murray, who ran the collapsed company, would take over the running of the event. When Worcester local, John Simons, received a grave cancer diagnosis, his family’s worlds were rocked. In the short time they had with him the local hospice, St Richards, provided an oasis where they could spend time together.
