The UK’s Home Affairs Committee has warned that the recently published draft anti-terror bill’s focus on venue capacity fails to address real risk of terror attacks, stating that small venues face implementing costly new anti-terror measures while larger events fall out of scope. The response goes on to say that onerous new anti-terror regulations could place small businesses and voluntary organisations at risk of closure but fail to make a difference to public safety, calling on the Government to ensure safety measures are based on risk and not on the size of a venue. Industry Consultation launched for feedback on new Purple Guide Environmental Chapter Vision: 2025, the UK outdoor event industry’s steering group for environmental sustainability, has been commissioned by the Event Industry Forum’s (EIF) Purple Grants Fund, to write a new chapter of the Purple Guide on Environmental Sustainability for events. As part of its ongoing sustainability developments, Evolution Dome has invested in a new fan system which has resulted in a significant reduction in the power consumption of its inflatable structures. Ashley Austin, director of Evolution Dome, explained, “The new model promises to unite the straight airflow and ease of installation of axial fans with the high-pressure stability and power efficiency of radial fans.
