SINGAPORE: Taking inspiration from a swarm of butterflies in mid-flight, a group of students from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) developed the unique ‘Flights of Fancy’ display for the 2014 Singapore Night Festival. The installation, which was the culmination of the University’s 10-week Urban Lighting course, used the Singapore National Design Centre’s expansive space to bring a true on-of-a-kind experience to life with help from Martin Professional Exterior 400 LED lighting fixtures. RUSSIA: Every year, farmers, milk lovers and music fans flock to Ufa – the dairy capital of Russia – to celebrate the Milk Music Festival. Festival-goers can learn about the dairy industry, interact with farm animals, take a spin on amusement park rides, and – of course – enjoy locally sourced dairy products. CHILE: WOMAD will take place in Chile for the first time in 2015. Sinead O’Connor will headline the three-day open-air world music festival, set to take place in the Recoleta District of Santiago in Plaza La Paz from February 13 – 15. SPAIN: Sónar Barcelona has revealed a second wave of acts – 32 in total – for its 22nd festival, set to take place from June 18 – 20. The event will be split between two venues: Fira Montjuic (Sónar By Day) and Fira Gran Via (Sónar By Night). Included in the new announcement is L.A. beat scene pioneer Flying Lotus, the experimental and androgynous tag-team of Arca & Jesse Kanda, and the inventor of dubstep: Skrillex. HONG KONG: K-array and Sennheiser Hong Kong featured its Firenze Series on several stages of Clockenflap Festival with an equipment list that boasted 30 x KH8, 22 x KS8 12 x Unannounced Speakers from the Firenze Series and 60 KH15s.
