UK: Kendal Calling has confirmed that its 2015 event, set to take place from July 30 – August 2, will feature a new, four-acre woodland area entitled Lost Eden, inspired by folklore of the Eden Valley. USA: The trusses above the CMA Music Festival’s main and Satellite stages at Nashville’s LP Field sported a fleet of 10 RF Venue collapsible CP Beam helical antennas. The four-day festival shattered attendance records and featured some of country music’s biggest stars. The show’s RF Designer and Technician, Jason Glass, used CP Beams for both transmit and receive antennas which were available to all guest engineers. UK: UK Festival Award-winning promoters Cream and We Are FSTVL have announced that they have joined forces to present We Are WHSE, provisionally set to take place this Autumn / Winter. We Are WHSE will take over the tunnels of London’s Great Suffolk Street, presenting some of the world’s greatest dance music legends inside one of the UK’s most underground creative spaces. UK: Glastonbury Festival continued its four decade-long partnership with Serious Stages this year – who once again provided almost 60 structures, including the four main stages, the Temple and the Ribbon Tower, plus multiple indoor stages, media platforms, television camera towers, PA towers and structural supports for video screens and viewing platforms across the 900 acre site. NETHERLANDS: Amsterdam Dance Event, scheduled to take place this October, will host a unique installation presented by Arup. Entitled the ‘Leslie Pavilion’, it explores a new application of the spatial audio effect pioneered by Donald Leslie in the 1930s, featuring his signature Hammond organ amplifier with rotating speakers. The installation consists of two hyperbolic paraboloids (hypars) inside which people can play a keyboard and hear a spatialised rotational effect from an moving speaker.
